Rev. Cornell was ordained in 1991, and has served churches throughout CT and MA in Interim and Senior Pastor roles. His most recent service was to Seymour Congregational Church. Rev. Cornell completed his undergraduate work at Quinnipiac University, graduating with a BS in Business Administration and a BA in Liberal Arts/Sociology. He went on to receive his MS in Human Services Clinical Counseling from Post University and his M.Div. from Yale Divinity School. Rev. Cornell is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a member of the American Association of pastoral Counselors.


Rev. Cornell and his wife have been married for 43 years and have two adult sons, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.

Cori is the Minister of Children and Families. She graduated in May 2012 with a Masters in Arts and Religion while also receiving a Certificate in Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Cori was awarded the Herman L. Lutz Prize in Christian Education for her efforts. Cori has been a member of First Church for many years, and served on the Christian Education committee along with participating in two mission trips with the youth about eight years ago. Along with her experience in Christian Education, she also brings 15 years experience working with teenagers in various church settings. 


Garett Artman, Organist and Choir Director

Garrett is the Acting Organist and Choir Director at First Church. He has taught and performed throughout New England and Central Europe during his college career, while receiving a BM in Music Education and a BM in Piano Performance from The University of Maine and Yale School of Music. Garrett served as music director in multiple churches throughout Maine and Connecticut, and even worked as a collaborative pianist and music teacher at Old Saybrook Public Schools in previous years. Now living in New London after relocating from Niantic to Maine, he's excited to be back and to share his passion for music, both at First Church and his private studio.

Britt is excited to be a part of First Church and back at work after many years of being home with her children. She comes to us with a background in nonprofit organizations, including museum education and public relations.  

 
 
 
 


Roxie Wynne, Nursery Care Provider

Roxie Wynne is married with one adult daughter and resides in Old Saybrook. She has worked as an aide at Goodwin Elementary School as well as My Second Home Day Care Center. She has been working with children since the early 1990’s. Roxie is CPR certified. The First Church nursery has been extremely lucky to have her expertise for over 2 years.
