organizations that currently meet at First Church. Telephone numbers
and/or links are included if you would like more information. The
Church Office can provide you with meeting times and dates.
Shoreline
Soup Kitchens and Pantries food distribution site
Tuesdays from

Soup Kitchens offer food and fellowship to the communities of Chester,
Clinton, Deep River, East Lyme, Essex, Killingworth, Lyme, Madison, Old
Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook. Our family oriented meal sites serving
hot, nutritious and delicious food are located in Centerbrook, Chester,
Clinton, Deep River, Essex, Old Lyme, and Old Saybrook. And, our grocery
distribution sites where participants receive enough food for three
meals for three days are located in Clinton, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and
Westbrook. Also, provided to those who have limited cooking facilities
are frozen heat-n-eat meals that can be picked up at any of our
pantries. The Shoreline Soup Kitchens accomplishes its goals
with the help of over 750 volunteers, who provided over 17,600 volunteer
hours in 2003. We provide those in need with food and with fellowship,
responding to all with humanity and respect.

The mission of Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization
is to ensure, through information, empowerment and peer support, that no
one faces breast cancer alone.
Scouting

Bridge
Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m., Fridays at 7:00 p.m., and ladies on Thursdays at
12:30 p.m.
Youth & Family Services we work with them in various programs -

Youth and Family Services is committed to promoting the
positive and healthy well being of the Towns youth, families and senior
citizens. We are concerned with all aspects of life that affect youth,
their families and the community and are dedicated to a collaborative
approach to analyzing existing needs and developing programs and
relationships to serve those needs.
Community

Alanon
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. - anyone welcome
For over 50 years, Al-Anon (which includes Alateen for
younger members) has been offering hope and help to families and friends
of alcoholics. It is estimated that each alcoholic affects the lives of
at least four other people... alcoholism is truly a family disease. No
matter what relationship you have with an alcoholic, whether they are
still drinking or not, all who have been affected by someone elses
drinking can find solutions that lead to serenity in the Al-Anon/Alateen
fellowship.
Narcotics
Anonymous Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. - anyone welcome
Narcotics Anonymous provides a recovery process and
support network inextricably linked together. One of the keys to NAs
success is the therapeutic value of addicts working with other addicts.
Members share their successes and challenges in overcoming active
addiction and living drug-free productive lives through the application
of the principles contained within the Twelve Steps and Twelve
Traditions of NA. These principles are the core of the Narcotics
Anonymous recovery program

Watchers Tuesdays (one session) 5:30 p.m., Thursdays (two
sessions) 9:00 and 10:30 a.m., Saturdays (two sessions) 8:00 and
